Living large in Lyon—that’s been the life of Man Mulligan’s international taste-testers for the better half of a week now, and if we stayed in the city any longer, there’s a bettor’s chance our duck-stuffed organs would end up on one of its très magnifique, Michelin-starred menus.
Ladies and gentlemen, to say we merely wined and dined these past few days would be like saying Lyon has a restaurant or two within the city limits. No, we ate, drank, and regurgitated like the goutiest, gaudiest French kings of all time, and our nickname chalice runneth over with excellent material as a result.
By chance, did you know that Lyon—through its role as one of cinema’s foundational birthplaces and the spiritual center of modern French cuisine—essentially invented the French version of date night’s favored go-to, dinner and a movie?
Neither did we, but we sure do now. After immersing ourselves in all things Lyon, the city is literally in our blood, and we have the sky-high cholesterol and sugar levels to prove it.
In our next city (stay tuned for tomorrow’s reveal of the fifth and sixth cities of Eurotrip 2026), we’ll be looking to take the stairs whenever possible—or else we may not make it to the end of the trip.
Vive la France—and vive la Lyon!
